Helen May Peterson Bailey

Helen May Peterson Bailey (1854-1945) was the daughter of Capt. William and Louisa (Sampson) Peterson of Duxbury. At age 3, she went to sea and traveled on her father’s ships throughout her childhood.

In 1873, she married Capt. Fred C. Bailey of Kingston and took multiple voyages with him, often taking her children with her.
