Plymouth Colony existed independently for 71 years, from the settlement of Plymouth in 1620 until the merger with Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1691. The colony covered most of southeastern Massachusetts (including the Cape); the original towns on the South Shore were: Plymouth (1620); Scituate (1636); Duxbury (1637); and Marshfield (1640). This annual symposium offers an exciting opportunity for regional historians to present research and projects happening at local museums and historic sites.
