Family Day at King Caesar: Stories by the Sea

Join the Duxbury Rural & Historical Society for a morning of historically-themed activities, storytelling by Timothy Basil Ering, ice cream and picnicking on the lawn of the King Caesar House museum.

Schedule of Events:

9:30 – 10:45 am: Family Activities

  • Boat-making Makerspace
  • Painting Seashells
  • Story Stations
  • Children’s Croquet
  • Quilting Activity
  • Book Nook & Letterboxing with the Duxbury Free Library
  • View the Historic House
  • Purchase tickets for the exciting raffles available!

10:45 – 11:30 am: Read with Timothy Basil Ering.

  • Ering is a local author and illustrator of many children’s books, perhaps best known for his illustrations in the New York Times bestseller and Newbery Award Winner, The Tale of Despereaux. Visit His Website to learn more about Timothy Basil Ering.

11:45: Ice Cream on the Lawn!

  • Generously donated by Scoops Ice Cream.
  • You are also welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the waterfront view.

12:00 pm: Raffles Announced
