Historic Clothing Talks

Presented by the DRHS Textiles & Clothing Committee, in partnership with the Duxbury Free Library: Historic Clothing Exhibitions and Talks. Free admission and open to all. Location: 2nd floor Resource Center, Duxbury Free Library.

    • August – September: Comparing and contrasting two white cotton dresses, one high-waisted and the other with a drop waist. Free Gallery Talk, Friday, August 3 at 11 am, Duxbury Free Library.
    • October – November: Mourning Clothing, Jewelry and Customs. Free Gallery Talk on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11:00 am (Duxbury Free Library)
    • December – January: Clothing Inspired by the Novels of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Free Gallery Talk on Friday, Dec. 7 at 11:00 am (Duxbury Free Library). The talk will focus on F. Scott Fitzgerald (think The Great Gatsby).  Mattie Ali will present information on the era and the clothing, and Suzanne Gunnerson will talk about the literature.
