Silhouette Portraits for Your Family 

Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6, 2019: visit the DRHS for silhouettes hand-cut by mother-daughter silhouette artists, Jean and Marcella Comerford. These lovely hand-cut portraits make wonderful gifts and precious mementos. All work is done free-hand, only takes a few minutes , and wiggly little ones are welcome. A very special keepsake, and ideal for gift-giving just in time for Mother’s Day. Adults are welcome too!

Reservations are required and secured with a non-refundable $35 deposit,
which includes your first silhouette. Copies of the silhouette, frames, and  mats will be available the day of your appointment at an additional charge.

20% of the proceeds benefit the Duxbury Rural and Historical Society.

Whenever possible, we also suggest that young children take the appointments during the day on Friday, leaving Saturday open for school-aged children. Thank you!

History of Silhouettes:

Silhouettes date back to the 1500’s and were extremely popular in the 1800’s as an affordable way to share an image of a loved one before the advent of photography. To this day, people still appreciate the art of the silhouette, and its artisan reminder of history.
