Notifications: December 2018

Symposium Date: Saturday, March 23, 2019

Theme: Hidden Figures in History

The 2019 Bradford Symposium will focus on hidden figures in American history. There are many stories yet to be told of the hidden figures behind a famous person, the invention, the business, the authorship, or the event.

The Duxbury Rural & Historical Society invites historians, scholars, graduate students, museum and cultural organization employees to submit proposals for presentations at the 2019 Bradford House Symposium (scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 9-3 pm).

The biennial Bradford Symposium was created in 2017 to honor the Re-imagine Bradford project and re-interpretation of the Bradford historic house museum. Today, the house is dedicated to telling new and invigorating history, and the Bradford Symposium is a new legacy for the Bradford House, welcoming scholarship and alternative learning, the discussion of difficult topics, and looking at things that have never been examined or have long been forgotten.

More information on the historic house can be found at http://duxburyhistory.org/historic-houses/bradford-house/

Please send a 250 word abstract, contact information and brief bio to emcgough@duxburyhistory.org by September 14, 2018 and include a confirmation of your availability to present on March 23, 2019. Notifications of selection will be made  before December 2018.
