case on the second floor of the Duxbury Free Library to see our latest installation of two women’s linen suits from the 1910s. These long-skirted suits are adorned with machine-made cutwork lace. One of them belonged to Dr. Emma Lootz Erving. Born in Duxbury in 1875, Emma graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1902 and was a practicing physician along with her husband, Dr. William Gage Erving. More about her life is included in the signage that accompanies the clothing.
