Maria Phenie Baker (c. 1824-1847)

There is little known about Maria Phenie besides being a young French woman.  She married Capt. Otis Winsor, Jr. in France in 1847 and then voyaged with him to New Orleans, LA. She died aboard the Deucalian of yellow fever in New Orleans on Aug. 15, 1847, at age 23. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston, MA. Capt. Otis Winsor, Jr. and his second wife, Mary Alden Holmes Baker, named a daughter for her, Mary Phena Baker. Mary Alden Holmes Baker is also on this list.
